Pre-test

What is a Pre-test? A pretest is a mock test which will find out what your level of driving you at before you set your driving test. Here at Jenkins School of Motoring we would recommend that you take pre-tests four to three weeks before your driving test date as this will give you time to work on any driving issue. At the start of the Pre-test I will explain the marking system and the stages so you know what to expect for the test. I will show you the marking sheet and explain what the faults are and what can be a pass or failed driving test. The Pre-test is one hour long. consisting of a 40 minute driving test and 20 minutes brief with the opportunity of a second hour lesson which is a teach lesson .

Try to come to me at least three to four weeks before hand as this will allow us to correctly prepare you for your test. We should try to meet at your test center (Rathgar Tallaght and Wicklow) as this well allow you to gain experience and possible route knowledge. I will act as the examiner on the Pre-test as this will demonstrate what the actual day will be like.

The brief will make clear what faults you have gained grade 1, 2, or 3 and how many in each category. And what you need to address before your test day. The second hour is a teach lesson. I will start with Rules of Road which i will supply you with a list of the most recent asked questions that come up in the theory part and go through the road signs but the best way to prepare is to Read the Rules of Road.

At the start i will explain the technical checks and the secondary controls which you will be asked when you do your Driving test. We will then head out on a possible test route with me given you commentary. We will start with Grade 3 faults trying to address them. Then work down to grade two faults that you got on your Pre-test.

We will then start to give you a routine to use at different driving situations moving off at T-Junctions traffic lights and Roundabouts etc. We will work on your Maneuvers Reverse around the corner Hill start and the Turnabout. I will teach you how do to the maneuvers and you will start to recognize your own mistakes which will help you to succeed with your test.

We will start to break down your Driving faults into simple and easy routines. With the help of diagrams and tailored institutions to suit your own learning needs. At this point we will be looking to do another Pre-test to assess what you have improved on and what you still need work on before you driving test.  Apply for your Driving Test here www.rsa.ie
